The role

Due to continued business growth, we are currently seeking a Consultant for our PPP Advisory Team to work on a variety of engagements, primarily in the transport, social, energy and utilities international infrastructure market. The hired candidate will work from our Madrid office on consulting projects, providing advice to global developers, operators, investors, lenders and public authorities, in the development, financing and operation of infrastructure projects. Our projects are interdisciplinary in nature, and they combine the knowledge, competencies and passions of our multidisciplinary experts, which makes Arup's service unique in the global market. Our projects integrate Infrastructure Engineering and Operation, Technology and Digitization, Sustainability and Climate Change, Finance and Economics, and Business Strategy and Organization among other disciplines.

 

The selected candidate will participate in the following tasks:

  • Prepare detailed technical and business reports
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients
  • Design, prepare and participate in workshops with clients
  • Process and apply models to analyze numerical and non-numerical information
  • Review of technical reports, specifications and drawings to understand key technical and commercial risks, and collaborating closely with specialists to understand issues
  • Prepare financial and operational numerical models
  • Advise on the technical and business issues of infrastructure assets
  • Manage and coordinate projects with other internal teams and offices, with clients' teams and partners
  • Search for information on possible clients, projects and competitors
  • Prepare and present proposals

 

Job requirements

  • Qualified degree in engineering, economics, business, finance, telecommunications, data science, information technology
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a firm within the infrastructure sector
  • Excellent Spanish and English skills are essential (both written and spoken)
  • Any additional European language skills would be advantageous
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
  • Passion to develop technical and commercial knowledge outside of the core sector
  • This will be a client-facing role that will require someone with the confidence and interpersonal skills to represent Arup at meetings
  • Willingness to attend industry events and network
  • Willingness to travel
  • Flexibility and out-of-the-box innovative thinking
  • Self-organized and able to work on several projects at the same time
  • Prior awareness/experience of assisting in the delivery of business advisory type assignments will be valuable
  • Formal training in data analytics, financial analysis, MS Excel and modeling or project management would be advantageous
