Job Description

Support business development teams with sales efforts and contract negotiations; Research & development and product design of micro-thrust turbines and hybrid-generator sets; Design, modeling and drafting to support a micro-turbine product line. Support and documentation of designs via CAD drawings (experience with Siemens NX is a plus). Mechanical analysis (including development of best-practices and methods for design, incorporating the features specific to gas turbine systems). Analysis using a variety of tools, including ANSYS, or similar codes. Drawings include manufacturing prints and full product data traceability. Analysis includes all areas of turbine hardware:  static structures, thermal, elastic and non-elastic, centrifugal forces, and blade modal analysis, Campbell diagram); Develop a methodology for the design space exploration of aero-engine components; Draft proposals for customer projects; Serve as project management for the design and production engine systems Requirements: Masters Degree in physics or engineering (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field); Excellent knowledge in mechanical static (linear, geometrical, and material non-linearity) and dynamic; Experience in the field of Finite Element Models (FEMANSYS, or other); Experience in FEM code development and/or scripted tools is a plus; Knowledge in modeling complex dynamic models (blades, rotors, aero-structural interaction); Programming skills in Fortran, C and Python are a plus; At least   seven (7) years of aerospace- or defense-industry experience; Experience working on complex customer projects or programs in the aerospace, defense, or engineering fields; Experience preparing and presenting technical reports and design reviews; Experience participating in proposal generation; Experience interfacing directly with customers
