As a Pre-Production Support Engineer youll immediately put your love of technology into action. Each day, you and your team will be responsible for making sure our platforms, servers and environments are online and secure. Youll find new and creative solutions to troubleshoot and resolve issues. If so, we would love to have you in our Pre-Production Engineering team. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including: Working in an Agile DevOps model with Architecture, Operations, Application Development and Infrastructure engineers, then pro-actively develop reusable patterns/solutions that enhance the health and performance of our global platforms, and identify/solve chronic technical issues. Build strong partnerships with core application development teams to facilitate them to adopt to the pre-production support model and a DevOps model Drive incident management support for application and/or infrastructure breaks in the pre-production environments in partnership with application development and infrastructure support teams  Manage application and infrastructure system health checks in the pre-production space  Manage capturing relevant metrics & reporting specific to the pre-production space  Engage in successfully managing various technology project work streams within the pre-production support transformation program Identify automation opportunities and minimise manual intervention Logging, monitoring, intelligent alerting, self-healing Essential skills/experience: Consistent demonstration of being an end-to-end solutions provider with the primary focus of pre-production environment support with a view to following DevOps processes Strong communications skills at all levels of a technology organization, including ability to manage and coordinate with a variety of cross-functional team members Experience in technology environment & application support within the distributed applications space, with a strong demonstration on issue-resolution management practices (technical as well as governance levels with strong analytical/problem solving skills) Strong technology risk management and impact analysis practices, and with a focus to connect-the-dots with cross-impact analysis needs across multiple components of enterprise-level and/or shared application platforms Strong SDLC experience at both, technical and governance levels Technical/development experience with relevant technologies such as Javascripting, Java/J2EE, Jquery, JSON, XML, PHP, Perl/shell scripting, Python, Web Development, Web Services, Sybase and database technologies Technical administration and configuration management analysis experience with relevant technologies such as IBM WebSphere Application Server,  administration of code deployment/management with familiarity of toolsets/practices such as Subversion, Git, Jenkins, general application-specific configuration management and usage of toolsets such as SOAP UI to manage test health checks.  Proficient in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.  Strong general technology background in the distributed applications space (i.e. Unix and core server infrastructure, databases, middleware web services, etc.) Experience or knowledge of DevOps Experience of process improvement through automation and scripting is a key function of what we do Hands-on experience with cloud-based applications, technologies and tools is beneficial BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field of study/equivalent experience.
