Application Support is a critical team within IT, which performs key functions that support other IT teams as well as our Business Partner teams. The team is responsible for a variety of tasks, providing second level support on incidents, developing and deploying both fixes and small enhancements. Application Support also plays a major role in Release and Problem Management. Finally, the team ensures system health and applies critical updates.   A Programmer on Application Support is a technical resource that supports key functions of Application Support. Programmers are expected to troubleshoot issues and do root cause analysis and propose fixes. Programmers will participate in every stage of the development life-cycle, from analysis and design to program coding, testing, release and maintenance while adhering to current System Development Methodology (SDM) processes. Programmers on Application Support work closely with multiple clients and other technical staff members. Knowledge of a variety of web development languages is required. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Troubleshoots for production issues with a goal toward root cause analysis. Develops projects and aids in maintaining the system architecture. Helps document and train the solution architecture to other developers. Coordinates the elicitation of business requirements and turns into the technical solution. Understands the process flow and uses best practices. Maintains appropriate level of communication about progress. Notifies all parties involved when schedule impacts occur. Can use problem solving to recognize there is a problem or issue and clearly communicate the problem to leadership. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in application development or application support C# development experience Basic understanding of relational databases and ability to query and modify data with SQL Client service experience Good communication skills Preferred: Experience in troubleshooting web application environment Experience working with third party vendors
