Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a developer who wants to take full technical ownership of the delivery of new possibilities to our industry-changing platform. We need someone who is imaginative, collaborative, inventive, good-humoured and driven. You’ll be working with everyone else in the business: product managers, account managers, sales executives and of course the rest of our great development team. You’ll be comfortable working with “legacy” code but will understand how to experiment responsibly with new ideas to help push our platform forward in response to our client needs and our company ambitions to create a less painful way of managing the production of film and television. Initially you’ll probably be working as a sole developer with the other business stakeholders but if an idea works out you’ll have experience of bringing other developers onto a project successfully and migrating a project from feature build to feature maintenance. You’ll be supported by other senior developers in the team and ultimately we’d like you to be a future technical leader for the team. We’re a small group of developers so we’re always looking to finish our work at a point where we are providing more value that it is costing us to maintain the features. Code quality is part of that but there’s a lot more about simple ideas, error-tolerant code and an understanding of the business process that allows things to self-heal before they become a problem. We want someone who is excited about helping to take the bureaucracy out of the creative side of television and film, is practical about taking the majority of the value for the minimum amount of effort.
