Bloomberg Government (BGOV) delivers news, analyticsand data-driven decision tools via the Web to give government affairs and contracting professionals an edge in influencing government action. Our web-based application provides performance analytics, access to more than 35,000 aggregated news sources, in-depth legislative tracking, regulation monitoring and research tools to find actionable information in federal spending.  You will build our data warehouse environment, creating a robust platform for data needs like ETL, search, analytics and relational databases. In cross-functional Agile teams, we work with UX designers, data domain experts and product owners to deliver the data-driven solutions our clients need and bring transparency to a traditionally opaque industry.  Primary Responsibilities: Work on design, architecture and implementation of data warehouse environment. Build robust and scalable data processing pipelines, leveraging modern and maintainable technological choices. Participate in the full process from analysis of requirements to taking responsibility for deployment to production environment Collaborate within an agile, multi-disciplinary team of engineers, product, data analyst, UX designer, QA and scrum master to solve customer problems effectively. Explores and evaluates new technologies to guide pragmatic technology and architecture choices Participates in special projects like recruiting/mentoring and performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: 3+ years of industry experience with ETL processing, data modeling and pipelines. Proficient in one of Python, Ruby, Java or C++ programming languages and ability to learn quickly. Extensive database related experience with SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL database like mongoDB/Elasticsearch. Knowledge of distributed data warehouse paradigms like Hadoop and Kafka. Experience with service oriented architecture and API design. Experience with cloud /AWS infrastructure is a plus. BS/MS in Computer Science or related field of study Experience working in an iterative or agile development environment, preferably Scrum. Strong problem-solving skills to build robust, scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
