eBay's Buyer Growth team which is responsible for key areas like the home screen, my eBay, and the larger buyer growth charter is looking for a Senior Android Engineer who is passionate about creating apps consumers love. This is an amazing opportunity to join a world leader in mobile commerce and directly impact the lives of a global population while increasing the revenue of eBay exponentially.

The Senior Android Engineer will have an expert's depth and breadth of experience in Android app development, Java, Kotlin, Android Studio.

 

Job Requirements

  • 8+ Years of software design and development experience working on a team

  • 5+ years of experience generating commercial quality Android applications using Java and/or Kotlin - please provide links to published apps

  • Lead major projects and features from the design phase to coding and testing

  • Work closely with product managers, engineering leaders, scientists and collaborate with partner teams to execute a challenging roadmap

  • Mentor other junior engineers in the team

  • Use best practices to write clean, maintainable code for the project, and create a high performant delightful experience for customers

  • Deep understanding of mobile application design considerations

  • Deep understanding of visual and interaction design principles for Android app

  • Deep understanding of design patterns, and experience working in a layered architecture

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks

  • Experience with scrum or other agile software development methodology
