Join our sustaining engineering team for Oracle VM/PCA. This cutting-edge virtualization technology uses Oracle Java, ADF-11 & Python, engineered with state of the art hardware to manage large-scale datacenters and create virtualization & cloud solutions. You will be responsible for problem diagnostics, code fix and patching on customer and development systems. Sustaining engineers are primarily responsible for patch diagnostics and backporting, however they are encouraged to contribute to development efforts as well.
Candidates should have
- strong knowledge in Python & shell scripting
- systems or system administration background
- good understanding of real-world datacenter layout
- storage architecture knowledge
- networking knowledge
- excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- strong debugging skills
- good communication skills (very important)
- experience working with complex problems in enterprise support
- 5 years experience in areas mentioned above
- Java knowledge is a plus.
You should have experience working in Linux environment; operational knowledge of Enterprise Linux distributions (Oracle, Red Hat, CentOS, or SuSE) is very important.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
