Role OverviewAs TransferMate continues to grow rapidly, our people and teams are also. We are looking for a VB6 Developer to support ongoing business as usual in the same technology, and assist and consult in a move of this application to C#, in the Core.NET platform.

Job responsibilities

Coding software and configuring packaged applications
Document and implement programs according to installation standards, procedures, and conventions
Prepare and execute Unit Test plans and document results
Prepare and execute System and Integration Test plans and document results
Troubleshoot program code, related objects, and documentation in order to resolve application issues
Quality check program code, related objects, and documentation
Respond to Production Support issues
Work with business as required to understand issues
Conduct preliminary estimates / Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort of new/change to application functionality

Requirements

5 or more years of experience in related field including using technologies listed below:

OO Development in VB6
Developing and debugging ActiveX DLLs and EXEs written in VB6
Detailed debugging and tracing in VB6
Experience with migrating VB6 applications to modern alternative platforms (C#/Core.NET, Python 3/Django or PHP/Laravel preferred)
Performance monitoring and optimisation of VB6 applications
Actual knowledge of implementing Design Patterns in VB6 code
Proven Relational database design, programming, debugging and query optimisation skills

Skills

VB6 and VBA
PostGreSQL 10+
C#, Core.NET & Entity Framework (Desirable)
PHP Web Development to version 7, optional experience with Laravel Framework (Desirable)
Python 3, experience with Flask, Django Frameworks (Desirable)
