Operations Technology IT - Amazon Vision Operation CenterWe develop and deliver technology that supports Amazon Operations at worldwide scope and scale that is unparalleled. An essential team to enabling multiple products and technologies is Amazon Vision Operation Center (AVOC). AVOC provides core support for Machine Learning/Computer Vision (ML/CV) technology programs, which require remote operator annotations and/or human in loop for scaled operations. AVOCs capabilities include 24x7 operations, program management, business intelligence & analytics, quality management, customer excellence & continuous improvement, and training & development. Through these capabilities, AVOC has become the preferred service provider to prototype, pilot, scale and deploy vision operations use cases across Amazon. The team is currently distributed across three locations, with operations centers at HYD, India & SJO, Costa Rica, and a central business development center at Nashville, USA.What Youll DoAs a motivated Technical Program Manager, youll be responsible for driving and delivering complicated CV-based projects that will be implemented at Amazon operation sites all over the world. Your core functional requirement will be delivering centralized demand planning for AVOC. Youll work directly with software development, data scientists, and cross-team project leadership to provide guidance from AVOC on anticipated blockers, mitigate project delivery risks, and quantify the impact of design tradeoffs while balancing business needs against technical constraints. Understanding current and future needs of AVOC unlocks OpsTech IT's growth potential in ML/CV, as this role will provide a centralized management function across teams, the ability to see around corners is key.To accomplish success, youll orchestrate the delivery of secure, scalable, well-crafted solutions that keep Amazon associates safe, reduce process flow disruption and detect and eliminate quality errors before they impact customers. Youll collaborate and influence cross-functional team members from multiple disciplines to support new CV solutions to meet challenging and meaningful problems at enormous scale!A major differentiator is the ability to actively disseminate bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas of opportunity from upstream partner teams. AVOC needs to be aware of technical and/or business roadmaps from teams they support. Synthesizing this information and how it impacts technical, operational, and financial plans will enable success.Basic Qualifications· Bachelors degree with a technical discipline (computer science or engineering preferred)· 3+ years of technical program management experience in large, cross-organizational projects prioritizing competing demands, scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines· 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, including delivering distributed solutions that leverage web and cloud technologies· Experience collecting business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing production launches· Experience with project management tools and processes· Strong communication skills that allow effective cross group influence and impact with technical and non-technical stakeholders· Ability to disseminate partner team roadmaps (tech/non-tech) and influence planning and designsPreferred Qualifications· A Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or an MBA· 5+ years of Program Management experience, leading multiple parallel projects and delivering quality releases on schedule· Experience leading software development programs that involved interfacing physical devices (i.e. cameras, sensors, etc.) and AI tools (i.e. Machine Learning, Neural Networks, etc.) into customer-facing solutions· Experience with applications that handle large, unstructured data sets, such as images or video files, to digitally ingest, evaluate, classify, annotate and tag content with contextual metadata· Experience with agile or other program management methodologies· Understanding of AWS servicesAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
