Job Description Summary

In this role, you will join a team of experienced Software Engineers to develop medical products in the Anesthesia and Respiratory Care business. The product development team is responsible for the design, implementation, and testing of software on life sustaining products.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Design and implement software for GE Healthcare’s Anesthesia and Respiratory Care products
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design solutions and drive them into the design of the product software
• Work across the entire software development lifecycle including high-level and detailed design, software implementation, unit verification, and maintenance activities
• Develop real-time and non-real-time software in C++
• Collaborate with a global project team using the Agile Scrum methodology

Basic Qualifications:

• This role does not offer sponsorship now or in the future
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related computer degree
• 2 years of experience in object-oriented design, implementation, and testing of C++
• 1 year of experience in project design within a development or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated strong software design abilities, including object-oriented design
• Knowledge of software development life cycle or other engineering development environments.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, Subversion, etc.

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience developing and debugging code on embedded systems
• Knowledge of control systems and Agile methodology
• Experience with Linux and/or real-time operating systems, Python, unit testing frameworks and multi-threaded concurrent systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and across various teams
