We build applications with velocity to run in a cloud-native environment, run open-source Kubernetes with consistency, and manage our customers’ entire footprint with confidence to help them achieve their business outcomes.YouYou will be a key contributor to all aspects of the Spring Cloud Commercial projects which may include Spring Java development (both server-side and client-libraries), working with concourse CI pipelines and developing command line tools (in Go). There is also the chance to contribute to other open source projects in the Spring portfolio. This is a distributed team that uses virtual stand-ups and slack to stay in contact throughout the work day. Being productive in a distributed team requires strong communication skills and over time you may have the opportunity to interface with many other parts of the organization, work with customers or present the product at events/conferences.UsThe Spring Cloud Commercial team is building key Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) and Tanzu Application Service (TAS) platform services to make building microservice style architectures simpler, more secure, and fully managed, so developers can focus on building their application logic.The Spring Cloud Gateway and Spring Cloud Services products are fully integrated with Tanzu Application Service (TAS) and support the most common distributed system patterns such as API gateway, service registry, config server and circuit breaker. These patterns are integrated with Cloud Foundry capabilities like intelligent routing and UAA (User Account and Authentication server)The next generation of Spring commercial products is being built on Tanzu Kubernetes Grid. These services will leverage native kubernetes features for routing, security and deployment.These terminologies may not sound familiar to you, and that’s ok!   • Great communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to writing and maintaining high quality code.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.

Desired Skills / Experiences

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of Java and Spring application development (GitHub evidence a plus).
  • Experience contributing to open source projects.
  • Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry knowledge and experience.
  • Established background in public speaking at user groups, conferences, etc.
